Every single high speed door in the Union range is designed individually and manufactured to order to suit the multitude of environments & applications presented to us by customers. Of course, we have a standard specification for each door model and also a good number of variable specification items & devices to enhance a standard model, such as radar motion sensors, door blade text or signage, flashing beacons, audible alarms, to name but a few. On top of that we also have numerous non-standard items and specification enhancement that are uncommon or not available from other door providers, such as ATEX rated doors, full stainless steel finish, special interlocks with other machinery, and special designs to fit in tight spaces.

In the 35+ years we have been in the fast roller door business, we have come across endless enhancement requests from our customers – some of which have been simple additional extras which have become the norm – whereas others have been not only challenging and more involved but have also been extremely rewarding as we have engineered solutions to solve our customers problems. Some of these bespoke solutions have been niche, specific to an individual customer, and others have been more popular and have led to us offering new additional extra items as standard variable options.

With our own in-house Research & Development (R&D) department, design – including 3D imaging capabilities – electrical & mechanical engineering expertise and manufacturing facility, Union has become the ‘go-to’ specialist industrial door company for many bespoke solutions across all industry sectors.
